1/700 Dazzle Modelworks Type 2A Maru Aircraft Transport (large hatch version)

During the Second World War the Japanese responded to their alarming losses in merchant shipping with standardized designs engineered for mass production. Although not as successful and never produced in numbers close to the Allied counterpart, the Liberty Ship, the Japanese standard freighters were produced in relatively large numbers during the later years of the war.  Finished model is approximately 7.5" long.  Includes optional gun platforms for multiple anti-aircraft fits.

Aircraft Transport depicts the eight vessels modified with larger than normal hatchways to accommodate bulk cargo such as aircraft.
