This kit is impressive out of the box with great detail. The B-25 bombers look impressive and will be easy to paint and apply markings. The decal sheet looks to be of good quality.

Very nice ship. The hull needed minimal sanding and the Photo-etched railings fit almost perfectly. I am still working on the model but it is about 65% done.

As the first kit of an aircraft carrier I've ever seen in this scale, I had to have it. Overall this is pretty good model; the hull shape is much better then the older trumpeter 1/350 kit however it still doesn't appear to have the proper flare along the sides. The bow and stern look to be about right. Also in this size it would be nice to see some plate detail in the hull. Not a fan of the aircraft being molded in clear plastic either, but that's a minor issue. The parts look good, minimal to no flash, and the level of detail looks quite acceptable. Inclusion of photo etch brass is a huge plus. Some modellers are no doubt going to feel that it could be much more detailed, especially in this scale. My opinion is that for the price it's a huge bargain (pun intended!). Newer modellers should have no serious trouble building this kit, RC modellers will love it, and pro modellers will find a ready canvas for super-detailing efforts.

Although I haven't put it together yet, the model is fantastic. The details in the pieces, with the extra detail provided by the etched pieces will make for a beautiful model when completed. My only concern is although there is nose art for 10 planes, and the side numbers for all 16, there are no instructions that explains which nose art goes with which plane. I realize it is a minor detail, but it was one of the selling points for me. Another small point, is that the TBD's, SBD's and F4F's are designed with the wings locked, and it will take a bit of work to display them in the hanger, properly, with the wings folded. Still, I look forward to putting it all together. It will be a great model to display, and the best depicting the Hornet for the Doolittle Raid that I have ever seen.
